Executive Coaching

Our Executive Leadership, Mentor, & Developmental Coaching allows a leader to enhance and build upon feedback from diagnostic pre-intervention assessments and reflect upon their experiences. A professional coach can facilitate change for you, your organization and/or your community from a current state to a desired state.  The purpose of coaching is to deepen the learning and forward the action. The learning and awareness leads to impacts in performance. Coaching sessions typically involve feedback discussion, reflection, challenging question/inquiry, action planning, and goal setting. You will be given challenging and thought provoking exercises and assessments related to your development goals. Our coaches will provide the process, encouragement, support, hard questions, and an opportunity to learn, grow, and reflect in a risk-free environment. Coaching is a two-way relationship. You will be expected to make choices and work diligently towards reaching your goals/desired outcomes.

"Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare." – Japanese proverb

A portion of Leadership Guidance LLC proceeds go to the Leadership Guidance Research Institute a 501(c)(3) Educational Nonprofit to assist in mentorship’s, coaching & scholarships. Leadership Guidance LLC believes similar to Peter Block (2002), Stewardship is defined as “holding something in trust for another” (p.7).   Similar to this belief according to Spears (2002), is Robert K. Greenleaf’s (1970) Servant-Leadership in which his “view of all institutions was one in which CEO’s, staffs, and trustees all played significant roles in holding their institutions in trust for the greater good of society. Servant-leadership, like stewardship, assumes first and foremost a commitment to serving the needs of others”(p.7).

“An inadequate knowledge base combined with limited human contributions tends to create public policies and processes that reflect only those values/views permitted to be voiced and acknowledge.” Dr. L. Gorman, (2004, p.212)

Students today are entering the same world I did in 1991. I graduated with a BS in 1991and a Master in Public Administration in 1993.  Due to the economy students will be graduating and find it difficult to gain entrance into a career/position. In the early 90's we had stagflation and many cities, states and businesses had Riffs, layoffs and hiring freezes.  Applicants with many more years of experience will be applying for the same open positions as the graduates simply because there are fewer open positions available. I did not have career mentors, did not know the importance of building a network and graduated into an economy with few employment openings. I am the second born in the United States and the first in my family to graduate from college. As a college professor, coach and leader I do  not want to see other students and families go through a similar situation. This program will allow students the opportunity to start networking and building skills immediately. My goal: to make a difference in enabling our community and future leaders.
